Social Media Initiatives on Instagram Make It Even More Enticing to Take Advantage of Dining Deals Through August 14—

New York City (July 20, 2015) — NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, promotes the start of NYC Restaurant Week Summer 2015 with a photo contest on Instagram to encourage diners to share their experiences, ultimately inspiring their friends, family and followers to take part in the largest NYC Restaurant Week ever. Starting today through August 14, diners can enjoy three-course prix-fixe lunches and dinners for $25 and $38, respectively (excluding beverages, gratuities and taxes), Mondays through Fridays, with Saturdays excluded and Sundays optional at a record-setting 368 New York City restaurants. Returning for summer, the #NYCRestaurantWeek photo contest allows diners who snap a photo of their NYC Restaurant Week experience and post the pictures with #NYCRestaurantWeek on Instagram the opportunity to receive $250 or more in gift cards from participating restaurants. Official judges will chose four winners each week for four weeks. Since the launch of the photo contest in winter 2014, more than 20,000 photos have been added to Instagram using #NYCRestaurantWeek. To further promote the program, social media influencers will share content on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook with the official hashtag #NYCRestaurantWeek.

The first dining program of its kind, NYC Restaurant Week continues to attract new and noteworthy restaurants in the 23 years since its inception, when it was started to welcome the 1992 Democratic National Convention to the City. This summer’s iteration, the largest NYC Restaurant Week ever with 368 restaurants, includes 37 new participants and welcomes back 332 restaurants.
