—Fund-Raising Event to Recognize Top Names in City’s Tourism Industry for Contributions to New York City's Vibrancy and Culture—
New York City (March 15, 2013)—NYC & Company’s nonprofit cultural tourism charity, the NYC & Company Foundation, will honor some of the top names in tourism at its 12th annual fund-raising event at The Plaza Hotel on Monday, March 18. The Leadership Awards Gala will recognize the Jacob K. Javits Center and The Madison Square Garden Company for their distinguished place in the City’s tourism industry and their contributions to the vibrancy of New York City's arts and cultural communities.
Alan Steel, president and CEO of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, and Hank Ratner, president and CEO of The Madison Square Garden Company, will accept the awards on behalf of their respective companies.
Expected guests include honorary chairman Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg, Madison Square Garden sports icons Adam Graves, Nick Fotiu and John Wallace; Deputy Mayor Robert K. Steel; NBC 4 New York’s Today in New York coanchor Michael Gargiulo; Tim and Nina Zagat of Zagat Survey; Union Square Hospitality Group’s Danny Meyer; Partnership for New York City’s Kathryn Wylde; Rudin Management Company’s William Rudin; and members of the world-renowned Rockettes.
