New York City (August 31, 2011)—NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, the Off-Broadway League and media partner Time Out New York, today announced two-for-one tickets to more than 25 participating shows in the fall during Off-Broadway Week. Tickets go on sale September 5 for Off-Broadway performances from September 26 to October 9. Off-Broadway Week, formerly called On the House, is part of the Get More NYC campaign and returns this fall for the fourth time. Off-Broadway Week was created to boost ticket sales during traditionally slow periods such as the end of summer and provide unprecedented theater savings for New Yorkers and visitors alike.
“Manhattan’s intimate Off-Broadway theaters are offering significant value this fall with two-for-one tickets for more than 25 shows,” said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. “There is no better time to take advantage of this Off-Broadway savings opportunity and experience some of the best theater in the City.”
Off-Broadway theaters, which contain 100–499 seats, are located throughout Manhattan, offering an intimate setting for guests. Long-running shows such as Avenue Q and STOMP join limited-engagement productions such as The Submission, starring Jonathan Groff for the fall promotion.
“On behalf of the Off-Broadway League, we are pleased to partner with NYC & Company on the first ever fall Off-Broadway Week two for one ticket promotion,” said George Forbes, President of the Off-Broadway League. “With over 25 participating shows there is something for everyone and Off-Broadway Week gives New Yorkers and visitors a chance to experience the excitement of an Off-Broadway performance at a discounted price”
