FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

New York, NY (March 1, 2007) —Dance Theater Workshop, one of New York City’s preeminent performing arts institutions, is offering a 40% discount on ticket prices throughout the month of March. This special savings opportunity is in conjunction with Dance Theater Workshop being named Cultural Organization of the Month for March by NYC & Company, the city’s official tourism marketing organization.

“Dance Theater Workshop is both a great incubator and showcase of dance and one of the reasons choreographers, performers and all who love dance, love visiting and living in New York,” said Barbara Lorber, Executive Vice President of the NYC & Company Foundation. ”Both NYC & Company and the Foundation are delighted to spotlight Dance Theater Workshop as the March Cultural Organization of the Month and to encourage potential new audience members to enjoy their vibrant programming.”

To take advantage of this exceptional discount, ticket buyers need only mention “Cultural Organization of the Month” when they purchase their tickets for any March performance. The discount is only available when purchasing tickets over the phone at 212-924-0077 or in person and cannot be honored when purchasing tickets online.

“We are thrilled to have Dance Theater Workshop featured as NYC & Company's Cultural Organization of the Month,” said Marion Dienstag, executive director, Dance Theater Workshop. “Spring into the best of dance in one of New York's hottest neighborhoods when you visit Dance Theater Workshop and travel the world of artists from New York, Brazil, and Vietnam on our stage, in our studios, and at our Lucky Star Café—what New York Magazine cites as “Highbrow and Brilliant” with the addition of Chocolate Bar.”

Dance Theater Workshop is New York’s center for new developments in dance, dedicated to moving dance forward. The organization was founded in 1965 by Jeff Duncan, Art Bauman, and Jack Moore as a choreographers' collective devoted to the sponsorship and practical support of the work of colleagues and early career artists. Since then, Dance Theater Workshop has built platforms from which individual artists can develop and present new work in New York City and worldwide.

Dance Theater Workshop is located at 219 West 19th Street in the heart of Chelsea, surrounded by the district’s renowned galleries, theaters, museums, shops, and restaurants. Most performances begin at 7:30 p.m., affording ample opportunity both before and after curtain time to explore the district’s charms and fine eating establishments.
