NYC & COMPANY INVITES VISITORS AND RESIDENTS TO TAKE ADVANTAGE OF NYC WINTER DEAL-O-MATIC SAVINGS PROGRAM IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY

Savings at Hotels, Restaurants, Shops, Museums and Tours Give Visitors and Residents Added Incentive to Explore New York City

New York City (January 8, 2009) NYC & Company, the City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced its NYC Winter Deal-O-Matic savings program, with more than 200 exclusive offers on hotels, dining, shopping, attractions, museums and tours throughout the five boroughs. With shorter lines at the museums and smaller crowds in high-traffic areas, the City is even easier to navigate and more enjoyable to experience. Details of the program, which runs through February 28, are available at .

“Winter is an ideal time to visit New York City—with these special deals, coupled with other free and value-oriented offers available year-round in the five boroughs, visitors and residents have more reason than ever before to take advantage of all the energy and vibrancy of the City while saving their hard earned money,” said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company.

By visiting nycgo.com, consumers can view all the special offers available at hotels, restaurants, retailers, attractions and museums, and print out the NYC Winter Deal-O-Matic savings pass they’ll need to take advantage of the offers at participating establishments.

Among the deals are 15% off the best available rate at 72 hotels, or a third night free with the purchase of two nights; two-for-the-price-of-one admission or discounts at various museums and attractions throughout the five boroughs; discounts on ticket prices for several performing arts establishments, including Broadway and Off-Broadway performances on certain days; 15–20% off lunch and/or dinner bills at participating restaurants; discounts on walking and sightseeing tours and so much more.

“The Deal-O-Matic highlights the fun and ease of finding great deals in New York City. It breaks through the clutter of all the winter deals that consumers will come across this season—we hope visitors spend time perusing the offers at nycgo.com,” said Willy Wong, Senior Vice President and Creative Director for NYC & Company.

In an effort to lure travelers to New York City from its number-one international market during the winter months, Virgin Holidays is offering British travelers special post-holiday packages including airfare and three nights hotel accommodations from 499£ while British Airways is offering a similar promotion, including airfare and three nights hotel accommodations, also from 499£. These incentives, coupled with NYC & Company’s winter savings program, should make a trip to the City irresistible.

Coinciding with the special NYC Winter Deal-O-Matic savings program is the Signature Collection Third Night™ luxury hotels promotion, which offers a third night free (plus a Saks Fifth Avenue VIP shopping experience) to visitors who stay for two nights at the prevailing rate at any of ten participating luxury hotels in the City. The program runs through February 27; visit nycgo.com for more details. Also coinciding with NYC Winter Deal-O-Matic is the largest NYC Restaurant WeekTM ever (January 18–23 and 25–30). More than 250 restaurants are participating this year, and for the first time ever, the offer of lunch for $24.07 and dinner for $35 will be available on Sundays at more than 100 of the participating restaurants. All of NYC & Company’s promotions coupled with the ease and manageability of New York City during winter makes the City an ideal destination to visit in January and February.
