NYC & COMPANY LAUNCHES URBAN OASIS CONTEST IN PARTNERSHIP WITH TRAZZLER, TAPPING INTO THE POWER OF TWITTER

New York City (August 4, 2009)—NYC & Company, the City’s tourism, marketing and partnership organization, today announced the Urban Oasis travel contest in partnership with the social media outlet Trazzler, leveraging the Twitter network. Urban Oasis, which began July 22 and runs through September 18, allows entrants to compete for a Grand Prize of $10,000, round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations for a two-week stay in New York City. Entrants can enter to win by submitting their travel experiences on trazzler.com and sharing them on Twitter.

“New York City’s energy and vibrancy have always served as a source of inspiration for many people around the world,” said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. “Our new partnership with Trazzler and engagement on Twitter aims to excite a larger audience about all there is to do and see in the City. There is no better way to reach others than through personal experiences and storytelling, and the Urban Oasis contest is a perfect vehicle for interpersonal communication.”

In partnership with sponsors JetBlue Airways and AKA, the Grand Prize winner will be awarded a $10,000 contract to write and reside in New York City for two weeks. As part of the agreement, the winner will contribute 30 Trazzler trips featuring all five boroughs. The Grand Prize package includes hotel accommodations for 14 nights provided by luxury extended-stay brand, AKA, and round-trip airfare with New York-based JetBlue Airways.

In addition to the Grand Prize, there will be four Editors' Choice contracts worth $500 and nine runners-up contracts worth $250 in exchange for Trazzler trips.
