New York City (July 29, 2009)—NYC & Company, New York City’s marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today announced its lineup of Go Local summer activities for the weekend of July 30 to August 2. As the condition of the economy continues to affect millions of New Yorkers, the City remains an exceptional value that can be enjoyed on any budget. The Go Local initiative highlights free and low-cost events for residents to enjoy throughout the five boroughs, encouraging them to take advantage of New York City’s wide range of activities while discovering its neighborhoods.

“New York City offers its residents access to countless entertainment opportunities at a cost that won’t break the bank,” said NYC & Company CEO George Fertitta. “Our Go Local campaign is designed to showcase some of the City’s most enjoyable activities while highlighting unprecedented value."

This summer more than 1,500 free activities and events are being offered throughout the five boroughs. With school out and “Summer Fridays” in, this week’s Go Local looks at ways to relax with rhythm in the City through music and dance.
