THIRD ANNUAL ON THE HOUSE PROMOTION OFFERS 2-FOR-1 TICKETS TO MORE THAN 30 OFF-BROADWAY SHOWS

—Running through February 13, On the House Also Features 2-for-1 Drink Specials at 17 Restaurants with Presentation of Ticket Stub—

New York City (January 24, 2011)—NYC & Company, New York City’s official marketing, tourism and partnership organization, today launched the third annual On the House Off-Broadway promotion, in partnership with the Off-Broadway League and media partner Time Out New York. On the House offers two-for-one tickets to more than 30 Off-Broadway performances from January 24 to February 13. And for the first time, On the House theatergoers who present their Off-Broadway ticket stub will receive two-for-one drink specials at 17 City restaurants. NYC & Company’s winter initiatives, which include On the House, are designed to boost the local economy during the historically slow travel months of January and February and encourage tourism in the lead-up to achieve Mayor Bloomberg’s goal to attract 50 million visitors annually to New York City by 2012.

“New York City is a showcase for some of the world’s best theater, and Off Broadway is home to some of our City’s best talent,” said George Fertitta, CEO of NYC & Company. “We encourage New Yorkers and visitors to take advantage of the considerable savings On the House offers, including exploring the City’s vibrant nightlife with two-for-one drinks after the show.”

“On the House was extremely successful in 2010 with over 6,285 tickets sold, nearly double the number of tickets sold in 2009. On behalf of the Off-Broadway League, we are thrilled to be partnering with NYC & Company to boost Off-Broadway ticket sales during the historically slow months of January and February,” said George Forbes, president of the Off-Broadway League. “With over 30 participating shows this year, the On the House two-for-one ticket promotion offers an affordable platform for residents and visitors to enjoy the excitement of an Off-Broadway performance.”
