Rich Torrisi and Mario Carbone, classically trained chefs (Café Boulud, Del Posto), have been instrumental in reviving the Italian dining scene in Little Italy. They opened Torrisi Italian Specialties at the tail-end of 2009 and added the adjacent Parm in late 2011, a retro diner with vintage wallpaper and red-vinyl counter stools. Chicken parm and roasted turkey sandwiches are the main events here, supplemented by sides of locally sourced vegetables and antipasti. The team has such a devoted following and their spaces are so compact, there's frequently a line. It's worth the wait.
