New York City Tourism + Conventions, the official destination marketing organization and convention and visitors bureau for the five boroughs, is pleased to highlight product updates for visitors and delegates.

MAJOR INVESTMENTS

Transportation

• LaGuardia Airport | East Elmhurst, Queens | Complete 

  • LaGuardia Airport has completed an $8 billion transformation to a single, structurally unified main terminal with better transportation access and first-class passenger amenities—the first complete rebuild of a US airport in over 25 years. Recently, Terminal B was named the best new airport terminal in the world as well as recognition from the Rick Hansen Foundation for its high accessibility rating.

• John F. Kennedy International Airport | Jamaica, Queens | Ongoing

  • As part of a larger redevelopment project in recent years, JFK recently saw the groundbreaking of the new, upcoming $4.2 million redevelopment of Terminal 6. Construction is also currently underway at the brand-new international Terminal 1, with an expected opening in 2026.

• Newark Liberty International Airport | New York City Metropolitan Area | Ongoing

  • In addition to the new Terminal A, offering 33 new gates serving Air Canada, American Airlines, JetBlue and United Airlines customers, directly connected to a multilevel parking facility, EWR is also working toward a new 2.5-mile elevated guideway train system to reduce greenhouse-gas emissions and ease traffic congestion.

• Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement | Midtown Manhattan | 2032

  • The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey recently unveiled an updated design to replace the Port Authority Bus Terminal. The new design, the first since opening in 1950, will also include two office towers. Construction is expected to be completed by 2032.

• Marsha P. Johnson State Park | Williamsburg, Brooklyn | August 2023

  • Visitors to Marsha P. Johnson State Park (formerly known as East River State Park) will now enter through a new floral gateway, which was unveiled on what would have been the LGBTQ+ civil rights pioneer’s 78th birthday.

• Gansevoort Peninsula | Meatpacking District, Manhattan | October 2023

  • Now open, Gansevoort Peninsula is Manhattan’s first public beach. Located on the shores of the Hudson River near Chelsea and the Meatpacking District, the beach provides a relaxing area for sunbathing and leisure activities. The beach also features a large sports field, picnic tables and walking paths for visitors to enjoy.

• Hudson River Park’s Pier 97 | Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan | 2024

  • Currently under construction, the new expansion of Pier 97 at Hudson River Park will feature a playground with water spray features, an activity field and an all-ages slide for the young and the young at heart.

• New York City Football Club Stadium | Willets Point, Queens | 2027 

  • As part of a private-public partnership, NYCFC will fully finance and build New York’s first professional soccer stadium. The Willets Point project will have 25,000 seats, a new public school, 40,000 square feet of public open space and will bring 2,500 affordable homes to the community. The project will also add an estimated 16,000 jobs and a predicted $6 billion to the City’s economy. 

• Bronx Point | South Bronx | Ongoing

  • Bronx Point is a 530,000-square-foot mixed-use development in the South Bronx, opening in phases with housing, retail, public space and cultural programming, including The Hip Hop Museum in 2025.

• TSX Broadway | Times Square, Manhattan | Ongoing

  • TSX Broadway, a 550,000-square-foot hotel, theater, dining and retail tower, has already taken center stage with the unveiling of its 18,000-square-foot podium LED screen where visitors and locals alike can upload 15-second videos casting over Times Square. The space is also home to the new Tempo by Hilton Times Square, with additional developments to open in phases.

• Renaissance New York Harlem Hotel | Harlem, Manhattan | August 2023

  • Renaissance Hotels debuted a new hotel in the heart of Harlem in the luxurious Victoria Theater development, which contains a 211–guest room tower, a residential tower and a new expansion of the Apollo Theater. 

• The Fifth Avenue Hotel | Nomad, Manhattan | October 2023

  • Now open, The Fifth Avenue Hotel combines a historic 1907 Renaissance-style building known as The Mansion with a modern 24-floor glass tower. Located in Manhattan's Nomad neighborhood at 250 Fifth Avenue, this property offers 153 rooms and suites designed by Martin Brudnizki Design Studio.

• Aloft New York Chelsea | Chelsea, Manhattan | November 2023

  • The latest addition to Aloft’s NYC portfolio offers 234 stylish guest rooms and includes amenities such as the WXYZ bar with live music, a fitness center, complimentary wireless internet and a meeting room. 

• Warren Street Hotel | Tribeca, Manhattan | February 2024

  • Firmdale Hotels’ third NYC property, the Warren Street Hotel, opened with 69 individually designed rooms, suites and residences—some with private terrace gardens and Lower Manhattan and Hudson River views—as well as the Warren Street Bar & Restaurant, offering an all-day menu.

• The Surrey, A Corinthia Hotel, New York | Upper East Side, Manhattan | Summer 2024

  • Corinthia, the renowned luxury hotel brand, will open its first NYC location on the Upper East Side where the historic Surrey Hotel once stood. The hotel, set to open in summer 2024, aims to restore the property's former glamour and sophistication. 

• Even Hotel Long Island City | Long Island City, Queens | 2024

  • Even Hotels Long Island City will offer comfortable rooms with welcoming decor and in-room fitness zones for private workouts, allowing guests to stay active during their stay. Conveniently located near attractions like MoMA PS1, the hotel is also within a 15-minute drive to LaGuardia Airport.

• The Center for Brooklyn History | Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn | September 2023

  • The Center for Brooklyn History (CBH), formerly known as the Brooklyn Historical Society, has reopened with an exhibition on view through March 14titled Brooklyn Is.... CBH aims to draw a broader audience with free admission and a more welcoming entrance, emphasizing the diverse stories found within Brooklyn's history and identity. 

• 75th Anniversary of New York City Ballet | Upper West Side, Manhattan | October 2023-Summer 2024

  • The New York City Ballet celebrates its 75th anniversary which kicked off in October 2023. The first performance took place on October 11, 1948, on West 55th Street at the City Center for Music and Drama, consisting of three ballets, Concerto Barocco, Orpheus and Symphony in C, and was choreographed by co-founder George Balanchine. The anniversary season will continue through Summer 2024 with more than 60 ballets and more than 25 weeks of performances.    

• The Apollo Stages at The Victoria | Harlem, Manhattan | February 1, 2024

  • The iconic theater has expanded for the first time in its 90-year history with the opening of the revitalized Victoria Theater on February 1, which introduced two new stages, creating an arts campus in Harlem. The inaugural season features programming from Alex Harsley, Stefon Harris and Blackout, David Hammons and more.

• Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) | Dumbo, Brooklyn | February 14, 2024

  • The Museum of Food and Drink (MOFAD) has launched a new chapter in Dumbo, Brooklyn, with its new location at the Empire Stores building. The museum’s first exhibition, Flavor: The World to Your Brain, is an exploration of the sensory experience of flavors in food, offering visitors insight into the true definitions of natural and artificial flavorings.

• Grey Art Gallery | Noho, Manhattan | March 2, 2024

  • New York University’s fine arts museum is moving to 18 Cooper Square in spring 2024. In addition to the move, the gallery will be renamed Grey Art Museum. 

• Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center | West Village, Manhattan | June 2024

  • The first visitor center within the national park system dedicated to LGBTQ+ history will open in NYC in 2024. The Stonewall National Monument Visitor Center will honor and explore the history of the 1969 Stonewall Uprising and will be located at a storefront in Greenwich Village, next door to the historic Stonewall Inn.

• Brooklyn Museum 200th Anniversary | Prospect Heights, Brooklyn | October 2024

  • The Brooklyn Museum will celebrate its 200th anniversary, kicking off in October 2024 with several special exhibitions and events. On October 5, the museum will hold a Birthday Bash celebration with programming demonstrating the best of the borough, marking two centuries of doing things “the Brooklyn way.”

• The Morgan Library & Museum 100th Anniversary | Murray Hill, Manhattan | Fall 2024

  • In fall 2024, in honor of its 100th anniversary, The Morgan Library & Museum will present a major exhibition honoring the life and career of its inaugural director, Belle da Costa Greene (1879–1950). 

• The Frick Collection | Upper East Side, Manhattan | 2024

  • The Frick Collection will go back to its original home at The Frick Mansion in late 2024. The 60,000-square-foot mansion has been repurposed and will include 27,000 square feet of new construction. The museum’s temporary home, The Frick Madison, will be open to the public until March 3, 2024.

• The Hip Hop Museum | South Bronx | 2025

  • Located just south of Yankee Stadium, this space will pay homage to the South Bronx’s rich culture and history as the birthplace of hip-hop.

• The American LGBTQ+ Museum | Upper West Side, Manhattan | 2026

  • The New-York Historical Society will incorporate a museum dedicated to LGBTQ+ history. Slated to open in 2026, the museum will be the nation’s first dedicated to showcasing global, national and local LGBTQ+ history and culture.

• This Is New York: 100 Years of the City in Art and Pop Culture at Museum of the City of New York | East Harlem, Manhattan | Through July 21, 2024

  • In honor of the 100th anniversary of the Museum of the City of New York, the museum created a full-floor exhibition, This Is New York, to explore the various stories, songs, art, literature and more, created over the past century throughout New York City.

• Seen Together: Acquisitions in Photography at The Morgan Library & Museum | Murray Hill, Manhattan | Through May 26, 2024

  • Part of The Morgan Library & Museum’s 2024 Centennial Campaign, Seen Together: Acquisitions in Photography showcases more than 40 previously unexhibited works acquired by the Morgan’s Department of Photography.

• Taking Care: The Black Angels of Sea View Hospital at Staten Island Museum | Randall Manor, Staten Island | Through December 2024

  • The groundbreaking exhibition Taking Care commemorates the historic development of a tuberculosis treatment facility on Staten Island in 1951, emphasizing the pivotal role of “The Black Angels,” nurses who broke racial barriers and risked their lives to administer the clinical trials. The exhibit features historic objects and archival images, as well as an immersive art film, Back and Song.

• Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys at The Brooklyn Museum | Prospect Heights, Brooklyn | Through July 7, 2024

  • Highlighting the significant contributions of artists like Gordon Parks, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Lorna Simpson, Kehinde Wiley and Nina Chanel Abney, the inaugural exhibition of the Dean Collection, curated by Swizz Beatz and Alicia Keys, presents a focused selection of monumental works by Black diasporic artists, fostering “giant conversations” that critique society and celebrate Blackness, while emphasizing the powerful connections between the Deans and the artists they champion.

• The Secret World of Elephants at American Museum of Natural History | Upper West Side, Manhattan | Ongoing

  • This special exhibition reveals new science about both modern and ancient elephants such as mammoths and mastodons, highlighting their extraordinary minds and senses. The exhibition also delves into how the creatures “hear” with their feet and use the 40,000 muscles in their trunks and more. 

• The Harlem Renaissance and Transatlantic Modernism at The Metropolitan Museum of Art | Upper East Side, Manhattan | February 25–July 28, 2024

  • Opening this month, this groundbreaking exhibition will feature 160 works of painting, sculpture, photography, film and ephemera exploring the comprehensive and far-reaching ways Black artists showcased everyday modern life in new Black cities throughout the 1920s–40s in Harlem and nationwide.

• Americans in Paris: Artists Working in Postwar France, 1946–1962 at Grey Art Gallery | Noho, Manhattan | March 2–July 20, 2024

  • The first exhibition at the newly reopened Grey Art Gallery will be Americans in Paris: Artists Working in Postwar France, 1946–1962. This is the first major exhibition exploring the historical impact of the expatriate art scene in post-World War II Paris, presenting over 130 works by approximately 70 artists.

• Crafting Modernity: Design in Latin America, 1940–1980 at The Museum of Modern Art | Midtown Manhattan | March 8–September 22, 2024

  • Focusing on six Latin American countries—Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Venezuela—Crafting Modernity: Design in Latin America, 1940–1980 is the first exhibition by a major American museum to examine modern design in this region on a comprehensive scale. The exhibit will feature more than 100 objects, providing a platform for understanding political, social and cultural transformations in the region.

• The Plural of He at the Leslie–Lohman Museum of Art| Soho, Manhattan | March 15–July 21, 2024

  • The Plural of He explores the life of Colin Robinson, the Trinidadian American poet, critic and social justice hero, through commissioned works, highlighting connections with the artist’s pursuit of connection and justice. The exhibition is curated by Andil Gosine and features artists like Devan Shimoyama, Ada M. Patterson and Leasho Johnson.

• New York Before New York: The Castello Plan of New Amsterdam at The New-York Historical Society | Upper West Side, Manhattan | March 15–July 14, 2024

  • Marking the 400th anniversary of the Dutch establishment of a colony that laid the foundation for New York, this unique installation centers around the Castello Plan, a rare map portraying New Amsterdam circa 1660. The exhibit provides insight into everyday life in the colony, its diverse population, Dutch ideas of tolerance, and the troubling legacies of slavery and Native American dispossession.

• Whitney Biennial 2024: Even Better Than the Real Thing at Whitney Museum of American Art| Meatpacking District, Manhattan | March 20, 2024–TBD

  • The 81st Whitney Biennial, Even Better Than the Real Thing, will showcase the work of 71 visionary artists and collectives, continuing the tradition of past participants by interpreting the current cultural landscape, telling stories, sparking discussion and commenting on diverse issues across various media and disciplines.

• Apollo: When We Went to the Moon at Intrepid Museum | Hell’s Kitchen, Manhattan | March 26–September 2, 2024

  • Explore the inspiring history of the space race at the Intrepid Museum's groundbreaking exhibition, Apollo: When We Went to the Moon, set to be the largest temporary exhibit ever hosted at the museum. The exhibition delves into humanity's journey beyond Earth, showcasing the collaborative efforts and remarkable individuals that made it possible, providing an unparalleled educational experience through engaging displays, interactives and artifacts.

• Bronx Calling: The Sixth AIM Biennial (Part Two) at The Bronx Museum of the Arts | South Bronx | April 12–June 16, 2024

  • The second installment of a two-part series, Bronx Calling: The Sixth AIM Biennial features the artwork of 53 emerging artists who completed The Bronx Museum’s annual Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) Fellowship program between 2020 and 2023. The exhibit explores urgent issues through the lens of lived experience, cultural identity and visual language, while critiquing systems of power in response to the transformative events of the past four years, with many presenting new and unseen works in their first institutional exhibition.

• Reynaldo Rivera: Fistful of Love/También la Belleza at MoMA PS1 | Long Island City, Queens | May 16–September 9, 2024

  • Reynaldo Rivera’s debut solo exhibition presents a collection of recent, iconic and previously unseen photographs spanning from the 1980s to today, challenging stereotypes by portraying subjects as protagonists in their own stories and capturing an intercultural bohemia through portraits influenced by various cultural and cinematic influences.

• Wonderland: Curious Nature at New York Botanical Garden | Bronx Park, The Bronx | May 18–October 27, 2024

  • Step into an enchanting exhibition featuring surreal art that immerses visitors in the whimsical world of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Featuring works from artists Yoko Ono, Oscar de la Renta, Alyson Shotz, Abelardo Morrell and more, Wonderland: Curious Nature will delight visitors with larger-than-life art installations and exciting programs including afternoon tea parties and scavenger hunts around the grounds led by the Cheshire Cat himself.

• Gran Fondo NY World Championship | New York City Metropolitan Area | May 19, 2024

  • Cyclists from almost 100 nations across the world will head to New York City to race across the George Washington Bridge in a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

• ICC Men’s T20 World Cup | New York City Metropolitan Area | June 3–12, 2024

  • New York City will host eight matches of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the new modular stadium, Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, the first of its kind for cricket. The 34,000-seat stadium will also hold the high-profile tournament between India and Pakistan on June 9.

• New York Sail Grand Prix | New York Harbor | June 22–23, 2024

  • The international sailing competition returns to the City this summer as part of its 12-race global circuit across four continents. 

• CONMEBOL Copa America | New York City & New Jersey | June 25, June 27 & July 9, 2024

  • Copa America has announced New York/New Jersey as one of the host cities for the CONMEBOL. New York/New Jersey will host three games at MetLife Stadium on June 25, June 27 and the semifinals on July 9.

• New York City Pride | Citywide | June 30, 2024

  • The annual NYC Pride March stands as one of the world’s largest, drawing tens of thousands of participants and millions of spectators along the sidewalks annually. Additional celebrations will take place throughout all five boroughs; details to be announced soon. 

• FIFA Club World Cup/Mundial de Clubes FIFA | New York City & New Jersey | June/July 2025

  • FIFA has announced it will launch an expanded version of the Club World Cup featuring 32 teams with tournaments taking place every four years. New York City/New Jersey will be one of the host cities in the US to host the first edition of the tournament.

• New York City’s 400th Anniversary | Citywide | 2025

  • The City of New York is commemorating the anniversary of the founding and unity of New York City. Celebrating 400 years, the City will host an array of events delving into the rich history of one of the most iconic cities in the world.

• The Army-Navy Football Game Presented by USAA | New York City & New Jersey | 2026

  • New York City, along with the state of New Jersey, will be the host city for The Army-Navy Football Game presented by USAA in 2026. The game will be hosted at the Meadowlands Complex as part of the 25th anniversary of 9/11 and will be the 19th time the game has been played in New York or New Jersey.

• Sail4th 250 | New York City & New Jersey | July 3-8, 2026

  • New York City and New Jersey will host the capstone events to kick off the 250th anniversary of America’s Independence. From July 3 through July 8, millions across the nation will witness the largest-ever international flotilla of ships and vessels sailing into the port of New York and New Jersey. The six-day celebration will also host an array of festivities including firework displays, food festivals, a special Fleet Week and more.

• FIFA 2026 World Cup | New York City & New Jersey | 2026

  • FIFA has announced New York New Jersey as the host city for the 2026 World Cup final. In addition to the final, NYNJ will host seven games on June 13, June 16, June 22, June 25, June 27, June 30, July 5 and the final on July 19, 2026.

• America’s 250th Anniversary | New York City & Nationwide | 2026

  • In 2026, the United States will celebrate 250 years since its founding. NYC will celebrate in a big way as the nation’s first capital, the birthplace of American government, and the place where the Bill of Rights was written—as well as placing a focus on the untold stories of Black and Indigenous communities and their impact of NYC’s history.

  • The Escape Game Brooklyn will open its newest location this month, conveniently located in Downtown Brooklyn's vibrant City Point. The Escape Game Brooklyn features six unique and family-friendly games, including its newest, Cosmic Crisis, as well as Prison Break, its hardest, for those up for the challenge.

• Seaport Fit | Seaport, Manhattan | March 2024 

  • Locals and visitors alike can now enjoy free year-round workouts at the Seaport, as Seaport Fit extends its popular seasonal program.   • The NYC Tourism + Conventions signature program runs in winter and fall, offering 2-for-1 tickets to Broadway performances. The next iteration will take place in September 2024.

• NYC Off-Broadway Week | Manhattan | February/March and October 2024

  • Colette, a sophisticated members-only club located on the 37th floor of the GM Building on East 59th Street, offers a unique luxury coworking space equipped with a dedicated entrance, office spaces, conference rooms and a members lounge. The exclusive club also offers members access to its private dining concept, Coco’s, with incredible views overlooking Central Park.

• Agency of Record | Midtown Manhattan | November 2023

  • Nestled underneath The Renwick Hotel is a new Mad Men–inspired bar and restaurant, aptly called Agency of Record. Located a block from Grand Central Terminal and Madison Avenue, the space pays tribute to the golden era of New York City advertising, embodying the spirit of a time when creative possibilities knew no bounds.

• The Lawn Club | Seaport, Manhattan | November 2023 

  • The Lawn Club, a vast "recreation hub" spanning 25,000 square feet, debuted in late 2023 in the center of the Seaport. The venue offers an array of games such as Bocce, Cornhole, Croquet, Shuffleboard, Beersbee, Kan Jam, and an exclusive and unique game called Putting Pool, which combines elements of golf and billiards.

• Che Brooklyn | Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn | December 2023

  • Crafted by industry veterans, this new vegetable-centric café offers vegetarian and vegan fare including marinated lima beans, spelt tatin, red cabbage rolls and more.

• The Tusk Bar | Nomad, Manhattan | December 2023

  • Located inside of the historic Evelyn Hotel, this new, Lewis Carroll–inspired bar serves sophisticated cocktails including their version of the classic Bloody Mary called “Hail Caesar,” a martini with shallot vinegar and a selection of mini drinks served with an oyster. The bar is part one of a three-part project, with a café and restaurant to launch soon.

• Madame Tea Sweet House | Woodside, Queens | December 2023

  • The new restaurant offers afternoon tea service with the flavors of Thailand, including both savory and sweet dishes such as thai curry puffs, chicken dumplings, green curry chicken salad sandwiches, khanom chan made with pandan and coconut, as well as Western desserts like fruit tartlets and cupcakes.

• Cecily | Greenpoint, Brooklyn | December 2023

  • Vegetables are emphasized at this new Greenpoint-based restaurant, offering unique menu items like brussels sprouts with apple and Parmesan, and butter beans with braised collards. 

• Park Avenue Kitchen by David Burke | Midtown Manhattan | December 2023

  • Park Avenue Kitchen by David Burke is a two-pronged restaurant serving classic American fare. The chef’s fast-casual café serves quick to-go meals such as salads and sandwiches, while the brasserie highlights Chef Burke’s take on classics such as tomato gratin, spinach ricotta duck egg ravioli and more.

• Mushroom Hotpot | Flushing, Queens | December 2023

  • This restaurant specializes in fungi dishes and is known for their beloved stir-fry deer horn mushrooms with green chile.

• Red Sorghum | Long Island City, Queens | January 2024

  • With interiors inspired by 1930s Chinese cinema, this new restaurant is serving traditional Sichuan and Hunan fare. Diners can expect a selection of Sichuan wontons, xiang xi fried rice, Chongqing braised beef, as well as traditional Chinese American fare including kung pao chicken and lo mein.

• Corima | Chinatown, Manhattan | January 2024

  • The highly anticipated opening of Corima offers a new option of “progressive Mexican” cuisine, pioneered by the husband/wife duo Chef Fidel Caballero and Sofia Ostos. The name Corima, derived from the Tarahumara language of the Indigenous people in Chihuahua, translates to “circle of sharing.” Prior to its permanent location, the restaurant made waves through citywide pop-ups, featuring culinary delights like porcini-and-huitlacoche-stuffed tamales and squid ink tonnato with puffed amaranth.

• Le Malt Imperiale | Eltingville, Staten Island | February 2024

  • Le Malt has expanded to Staten Island with the debut of Le Malt Imperiale, a luxury membership club that redefines classic drinks and fine dining. The club expertly combines tradition with modern and elevated offerings to create a stand-out experience across its six dining spaces.

• Yao | Lower Manhattan | February 2024

  • A new 168-seat Cantonese restaurant features three private dining spaces including a main dining area with orange interiors and chandeliers where guests will be served classic Cantonese fare such as chilled jellyfish and a selection of abalone dishes.

• Cloudy Donut Co. | Nolita, Manhattan | February 2024

  • The beloved donut shop opened the doors to its Nolita shop this month, rotating 44 flavors of their airy and colorful donuts, including Strawberry Lemonade and Blackberry Mint Mojito.

• Little Honey BK | Park Slope, Brooklyn | February 2024

  • This new café will serve polenta baked bread, breakfast pastries from Balthazar, pizza al taglio and smoked trout salads. The café plans on adding dinner service in the coming weeks.

• Vegan Quick Bites | Washington Heights, Manhattan | February 2024

  • The duo behind Next Step Vegan has opened a new vegan fast-casual in Washington Heights, serving vegan interpretations of Dominican and Latin American cuisine including plantain and yuca empanadas, platano power sandwich, potato balls and more.

• JACK Sound Stage | Williamsburg, Brooklyn | February 2024

  • JACK Studios has unveiled its state-of-the-art soundstage, a 20,000-square-foot multiuse production facility in Williamsburg. The space features a drive-in studio, VIP entrances, green rooms, outdoor lounge, kitchen, bar/café, top-tier equipment, conference room, onsite parking, post-production suites and much more, for all event needs.

• Theodora | Fort Greene, Brooklyn | February 2024

  • Theodora has made its highly anticipated debut following the success of its sister restaurant, Miss Ada. From Chef and Owner Tomer Blechman, Theodora offers bold Mediterranean-style fare, where almost every dish on the 20-item menu involves seafood prepared in a wood-fired oven.

• Atelier Jolie Café | Soho, Manhattan | February 2024

  • In addition to a new high-end clothing store, 57 Great Jones St, the former studio of artists Jean-Michel Basquiat and Andy Warhol, houses actress Angelina Jolie’s café. The café offers Turkish coffee and small bites, and has partnered with Eat Offbeat, an organization dedicated to hiring refugees into food businesses.

• The Second City | Williamsburg, Brooklyn | February 2024

  • The renowned comedy club Second City, known for launching comedy careers, has opened its first NYC location this month in Williamsburg. This nearly 12,000 square-foot venue includes two cabaret-style theaters, Training Center classrooms and a full-service restaurant and bar, marking the company’s expansion into the NYC comedy scene.

• Venue 42 by Convene | Midtown Manhattan | March 2024

  • Convene recently announced the upcoming opening of a new meeting and conference center in the heart of NYC. Venue 42 by Convene will be located at 5 Times Square, occupying 30,000 square feet. The new space will comprise nine meeting rooms, with each room supporting various event types from conferences to company town halls to corporate social events and more.

• Din Tai Fung | Midtown Manhattan | Spring 2024

  • This spring, international sensation Din Tai Fung is expected to open its very first East Coast location after signing a 15-year lease at 1633 Broadway, between West 50th and 51st Streets. The Michelin-starred restaurant is known for its soup dumplings, xiao long bao, spicy wontons, cucumber salad and noodles.

• Le Père | Lower East Side, Manhattan | Fall 2023

  • Streetwear brand Le Père opened the door to its first flagship location last year, offering a large assortment of the brand’s items including the new spring 2024 campaign featuring model Anwar Hadid.

• The Groom Shop | Flatiron District, Manhattan | Fall 2023

  • A fixture among Fortune 500 executives and celebrities looking for one-of-a-kind wardrobe items for over 20 years, Michael Andrews recently opened The Groom Shop in Flatiron, a new retail concept focused on formalwear for grooms and groomsmen. The store carries ready-to-wear and made-to-measure clothing and accessories including bow ties and velvet slippers.

• Outlandish | Crown Heights, Brooklyn | Fall 2023

  • The fourth Black-owned outdoor gear store in the US officially opened its doors last fall. Founders Benje Williams and Ken Bernard opened Outlandish with a mission to introduce and reconnect people of color to nature and the outdoors. Since the launch, the store has held over 10 sold-out group excursions for beginner hikes and trail runs for people of color.

• The Great | Soho, Manhattan | December 2023

  • The Los Angeles–based contemporary fashion and lifestyle brand, The Great, opened its first NYC store in December. The largest store yet for the brand brings its West Coast style to the streets of Soho, offering women’s, men’s and children’s apparel, and gifts.

• Chanel Fifth Avenue | Midtown Manhattan | February 2024

  • The iconic luxury brand Chanel opened a new flagship store on Fifth Avenue, as the company’s fourth watch and jewelry-only flagship worldwide. The new boutique is home to exclusive creations including a high-end jewelry collection, Eternal N°5, that features a transformable diamond necklace and earrings only available in NYC.

• H&M | Soho, Manhattan | February 2024

  • H&M unveiled a new store concept at a 10,000-square-foot space in Soho offering the first-ever shop-in-shop for pre-loved H&M pieces in North America, smart mirrors in fitting rooms to identify customers’ chosen products and personalized styling recommendations, mobile checkout options and more.

• Saint Laurent | Meatpacking District, Manhattan | 2024

  • Luxury clothing brand Saint Laurent is expanding its presence in NYC with the announcement of a 13,000-square-foot flagship store at 70-74 Gansevoort Street. This new location, expected to open in 2024, will join Saint Laurent's existing stores in Soho and Midtown Manhattan.
